I grew up locally, in a multicultural household with a French mother and an American father, which exposed me to the French language from an early age. At 18, I moved to France, where I spent a year as a jeune fille au pair, living with a French family, learning the language and immersing myself in the French culture. During that time, I met my husband, who is from Morocco and we lived in France for an additional four years. We then moved to Morocco and spent a year living near his family and traveling within the country. In 2012, we returned to the Plattsburgh area to settle down and start a family. We continue to speak French at home, together and with our children.
After nearly a year working at a public library in Annecy, France, I came across an ad for a private English school seeking teachers. After nearly a year working at a public library in Annecy, France, I came across an ad for a private English school seeking teachers. Although I had limited experience, I was intrigued and got hired, marking the start of my language teaching journey and sparking my passion for education. During my time in France, I taught English in various private and public schools to students of all ages, from singing and games with three-year-olds to teens and adults preparing for exams or improving their conversational skills for work or travel.
When I moved back to the US, I was determined to continue teaching and share the value of language. I earned my M.A. in Education from SUNY Plattsburgh and spent six years teaching French at AuSable Valley High School, a time that I truly cherish.
Pardon My French Class was inspired by my passion for language learning. While I’ve truly enjoyed teaching at the high school level, I kept returning to the idea of creating a similar experience to where my journey began. I wanted to offer something to the community that I believe many will find enjoyable and beneficial.

Pardon My French Class was inspired by my passion for language learning. While I’ve truly enjoyed teaching at the high school level, I kept returning to the idea of creating a similar experience to where my journey began. I wanted to offer something to the community that I believe many will find enjoyable and beneficial.
I've had many people ask me about private lessons and discuss with me how great it would be to start language learning at a younger age. These conversations, along with my previous experiences gave me the confidence to make this leap and begin Pardon My French Class.
I truly enjoy meeting new people and working with both kids and adults, and I’m excited to share my love for the French language. I believe Pardon My French Class will be rewarding in many ways, creating opportunities for both myself and the community. I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
